Formed in 1994 with 50 Charter members, the Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce is an active partner in the business community.  The Chamber is responsible for many outstanding events to include the Peeper 5K Run/Walk held in May which is a USATF sanctioned race; the annual Golf Tournament held in June, the Chamber BINGO held in September.  The Chamber offers annual scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors of Chamber members.  And, each year, the Chamber proudly honors our Citizen of the Year and our Business Leader of the Year at the Annual Dinner held in November. 

The Chamber Bylaws help to define the purpose of the Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce as well as set required guidelines for non-profit 501(c)6 organizations.  On June 6, 2012, the members voted to accept the revisions to the Chamber Bylaws as presented at the Membership Luncheon.  Below you will find a copy of those revisions.  Please feel free to contact the office if you have any questions.
  • PEEPER 5K RUN/WALK TO SUPPORT THE CHAMBER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 
The 19th Annual Peeper 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, May 4th.  The event helps to raise the $2500 scholarship awards that are given each year.  This USATF sanctioned race draws over 400 runners and brings the community together in a fun and exciting way.  Bibs with Chrono Track computerized chips will be worn by runners to assure a more accurate recording of race time.  Granite State Race Services will be on site to tally record times of the runners.  Registration begins at 8am the day of the race.  Race begins promptly at 9am.   Pre-registration fees are only $15.  Day of the Race registration is $20. Download the ENTRY FORM, fill it in completely, be sure to sign it, then send it along with your payment to the Chamber address listed on the form.  The first 200 entries received by April 5th will receive a free t-shirt
  • CHAMBER SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
     
    Each year, the Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce awards up to two (2) $1000 scholarships and one (1) $500 scholarship.  These scholarships are funded by the Chamber's Peeper 5K Run/Walk held in May.  Eligibility requirements are as follows:  Applicant must be (1) a child of a Chamber member;  (2) a high school senior or currently enrolled college student and (3) pursuing a higher education.  Deadline to submit the application is May 1, 2013.
  • ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Chamber’s 20th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 7th at Nippo Lake Golf Club, 88 Stagecoach Rd, Barrington.  This year’s theme is “The Roaring Twenties”.  This event is the Chamber’s largest fundraiser.  Sponsorships and donations are needed to make this a success.  And, of course, players.  New Prize Category – BEST DRESSED TEAM.  And, in addition to being a TEE or GREEN sponsor, we’ve added SAND TRAP sponsors as well.    Come join in the fun…great barbecue lunch for players.

  • “GREATER BARRINGTON CHAMBER CHATS”
The Chamber television show can be seen monthly on Metrocast Channel 12.  This show has three segments, two which are dedicated to interviewing Chamber members, and a third which gives Town officials an opportunity to education the community about the Town departments.   The show will air throughout the month at different times and offers the viewers the opportunity to learn more about our Chamber, its members, and the Town of Barrington.
